Jesus Is God: The Book of Revelation Makes It Clear
Some people say Jesus was just a prophet. Others say He was a good man or maybe even an angel. But the Book of Revelation shows something much greater. It reveals the true identity of Jesus, and it’s not unclear. He is not just from God. He is God.
Right from the start of Revelation, Jesus speaks about Himself in a way no created being ever could.
In Revelation chapter 1 verse 8, He says,
"I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the ending, says the Lord, who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty."
This isn’t someone claiming to be a teacher. This is someone claiming to be eternal, the Almighty.
Then in verses 17 and 18, Jesus says,
"Fear not; I am the first and the last. I am He that lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore."
Who was dead and is now alive forever? Jesus. And He calls Himself the first and the last. Those are titles that only God can rightfully use.
Even the angels know who He is
In Revelation chapter 5, there is a scene in heaven where God is holding a scroll. No one is worthy to open it, until Jesus, the Lamb, steps forward.
When He does, heaven explodes in worship.
In verse 12, the angels say,
"Worthy is the Lamb who was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honor, and glory, and blessing."
"To Him who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb, be blessing and honor and glory and power forever and ever."
This is not something you do for an angel or a prophet. Worship like this belongs to God alone. Jesus is not a separate god. He is one with the Father.
Jesus speaks with full authority
At the end of Revelation, Jesus is still speaking clearly about who He is.
In chapter 22 verse 13, He says,
"I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last."
That is the same title God used earlier. Then, in verse 16, Jesus says,
"I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things in the churches."
He doesn’t say He’s just another servant. He says the message came from Him.
The final invitation comes from Jesus Himself
In Revelation chapter 22 verse 17, we read,
"And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let the one who hears say, Come. And let the one who is thirsty come. And whoever will, let him take the water of life freely."
This is Jesus offering eternal life to all who will come to Him. The One who offers the water of life is the One who gives life itself.
Jesus is not just part of the story. He is the center of it.
He is worshiped in heaven. He speaks with the authority of God. He offers salvation. He calls Himself the beginning and the end.
The Book of Revelation leaves no room for confusion.
Jesus is not a created being. He is not just a messenger. He is the Almighty, the Lamb of God, and the eternal Lord.
Jesus is truly God.
